The Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk was more than a walk. It is was a moving monument and a community of people committed to helping people who need it the most. Our credo: We can make an immediate impact - person to person - helping to change lives.
This event was a three-day 55 mile walk from 2012 - 2016, and then a one-day 20 mile walk in 2016 - 2017 that raised critical funds for medically under-served and under-insured women and men in the Bay Area.
Since its inception in 2012, this small but mighty event granted $629,500!
Funds from this event supported Bay Area non-profits providing services to women and men living with breast cancer and funded metastatic cancer research and advocacy. Each organization pledged that 100% of the grant monies received went to fund programs – not toward administrative expenses.
We were proud to partner with the following organizations and fund their vital work:
Breast Cancer Emergency Fund
Charlotte Maxwell Clinic
Friend to Friend Shop at UCSF
METAvivor Research & Support
