On Friday, July 21, 2017, two days before her 50th birthday, we lost Sharla to chronic pulmonary toxicity from chemotherapy she received for metastatic breast cancer in her sternum and liver. It is impossible to express the depths of our grief and how much she will be missed.
Sharla participated in breast cancer walks since 2008, and because she believed in the importance of helping the under-served, in 2013 she became the Secretary of this small but mighty nonprofit, In Our Lifetime.
Donations in her memory will be directed to Shoulder to Shoulder - a project supporting women under 50 with metastatic (Stage IV) breast cancer. Through this we fund we will celebrate Sharla's joie de vivre.
